TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — Florida Republicans are going into Election Day with an advantage of 800,000 raw votes over Democrats, according to data from the Florida Division of Elections.

Over 8 million Floridians have already cast their vote in the 2024 General Election, as of Monday.

Overall, nearly 2.7 million Democrat ballots were submitted, compared to over 3.5 million Republican ballots.

Over one million more Republicans (2,549,779) voted early, in-person, than Democrats (1,511,828). Voters with no party affiliation cast 1,158,025 ballots in-person ahead of the election.

The Florida Republican Party believes the disparity signals good news for Election Day.

“These historic numbers clearly show Florida Republican voters are excited to elect President Trump, Senator Scott, our members of Congress, and all candidates down the ballot,” Florida GOP Chair Evan Power said in a statement.

Florida Democrats, however, have submitted more mail-in ballots than Republicans.
