TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — A disturbance in the Caribbean Sea is likely to develop by the end of the week, the National Hurricane Center said.
A tropical depression could form over the weekend or next week as the system moves northward over the central or western Caribbean Sea.
“Models continue to hint at tropical development in the central Caribbean by the end of the weekend and confidence is growing something will form. Confidence is much lower on where it would go from there and how strong it could be,” Max Defender 8 Meteorologist Amanda Holly said.
The chance for development in the next seven days is 50%.
