TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — The USF Bulls will make their second straight bowl appearance under head coach Alex Golesh.
The Bulls will take on San Jose State in the 21st Hawai’i Bowl on Christmas Eve from the Clarence T.C. Ching Athletics Complex on the University of Hawai’i at Mānoa campus.
“We are excited for the opportunity to compete in the Hawai‘i Bowl against a very good San Jose State team,” Golesh said. “Hawai‘i is a unique and beautiful destination that our players are excited to experience, and we look forward to productive bowl practices and a great game as we continue to build our program.”
The game will be the 10th different bowl game for the Bulls, who have played five other bowl games out of state.
The game, which is set 4,200 miles away from Tampa, will be the farthest the Bulls have traveled for a contest.
This will also be the second meeting between USF and San Jose State. The Bulls won the first meeting 42-22 during the first game of the 2017 season.
The Ching Athletics Complex has hosted the Hawai’i Bowl for the previous two years.
