TAMPA, FL (WFLA) — The Tampa Bay Buccaneers returned from their bye week in dominating fashion with a 30-7 win over the New York Giants that ended a four-game losing streak and helped their playoff hopes in the process.

On Monday, Bucs Head Coach Todd Bowles joined News Channel 8’s Dan Lucas to discuss a day that featured a big running game and a defense that came close to shutting out the opponent.

The Bucs finished the game with 156 total yards rushing and scored all four touchdowns on the ground.

The day was highlighted by a 56-yard run by rookie Bucky Irving, extended by a downfield block by quarterback Baker Mayfield.

Mayfield’s running ability secured a first down on a third down play near the Bucs’ own goal line. It set up a 26-yard pass to Mike Evans by pulling the defense toward him, allowing Evans to spring open for a sharply thrown pass.

Defensively, the Bucs sacked Giants quarterback Tommy DeVito four times, making it five games this season with four or more sacks.
