TAMPA, FL (WFLA) — The Tampa Bay Buccaneers lost their first game of the season in stunning fashion, dominated in all phases by the Denver Broncos, 26-7.

On Monday, News Channel 8’s Dan Lucas and Bucs Head Coach Todd Bowles discussed the game in their weekly ‘Bucs with Bowles’ interview.

The Bucs fell behind 17-0 in the first quarter, failing to contain Broncos rookie Quarterback Bo Nix, who finished the game without a touchdown pass but ran for a score and 47 rushing yards. Nix averaged 5.2 yards per carry, including a 22-yard run after avoiding a sack by Bucs outside linebacker Anthony Nelson.

On the offensive side of the ball, Bucs Quarterback Baker Mayfield was sacked seven times and threw an interception in the first quarter that led to a Broncos touchdown.

Bowles did not find much of anything revealing a positive when dissecting the game film but said he expects the team not to react emotionally after a difficult defeat, much the way it did following last week’s big road victory in Detroit.
