TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — After a disconcerting Saturday afternoon for Tampa Bay, the Bucs turn the page to the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 4.
Tampa Bay lost 26-7 in Week 3, preventing history. The Bucs set themselves up to go 3-0 for the first time since 2005.
The Denver Broncos’ defense sacked quarterback Baker Mayfield seven times. It wasn’t all Tampa Bay’s offensive line, a few of Mayfield’s decisions were also questionable.
“There’s a fine line of trust in the timing of your feet and like I said after the game, some of those in the second half were definitely on me getting a little bit antsy not trusting it as much so I just need to trust a timing of my footwork and deliver the ball,” Bucs quarterback Baker Mayfield said.
Mayfield threw 25 of 33 passes for 163 yards. Which included a 6-yard touchdown to wide receiver Chris Godwin in the second quarter.
The Bucs know they will have to come out strong against the Eagles on Sunday at Raymond James Stadium against a Jalen Hurts-led offense.
“Having familiarity with who they are including personnel and coaching staff, obviously they have new coordinators. But, personnel-wise, a lot of the same pieces so understanding the challenges they bring, and the mentality of how physical they are,” Mayfield said.
