Skelly just got a serious upgrade

The internet’s favorite Halloween decoration just got a major upgrade. Home Depot just revealed its 2025 Halloween collection, and the star of the show isn’t just the return of the beloved 12-foot Skelly the skeleton (though he is back this year) — it’s a completely reimagined version with LED eyes and an app you can use to create custom movements and light effects and even speak through your Skelly. Want to personally roast trick-or-treaters’ costumes? Ultra Skelly can do that. Prefer to have it crack dad jokes or play spooky DJ for the neighborhood? The choice is yours with five preset recordings and up to 30 seconds of custom recording capability, complete with eerie voice modulation.

Since making its debut during the pandemic in 2020, Skelly has become nothing short of a cultural phenomenon. What started as Home Depot’s ambitious attempt to shake up the Halloween decoration market has spawned countless memes, dedicated Facebook groups with tens of thousands of members, and waiting lists that would make sneaker drops jealous. People have dressed Skelly up, created elaborate themes around him and left the towering figure up year-round, incorporating him into decorations for other holidays.

And the app-controlled Ultra Skelly isn’t the only exciting new addition to Home Depot’s Halloween lineup. This year, Skelly was apparently feeling lonely, so Home Depot decided to give the internet’s favorite skeleton some companions.

The new 5-foot Grave & Bones Skelly’s Sitting Dog with LifeEyes LCD Eyes brings man’s best friend into the skeletal realm, complete with the same glowing eyes that make Skelly so creepy.

There’s also a larger, 7-foot Long Grave & Bones Skelly’s Dog that’s standing up, if you prefer that look.

And for the cat people, Home Depot has also introduced the 5-foot Long Grave & Bones LED Skelly’s Cat. This feline addition brings a different energy to the collection — anyone who’s ever been stared down by a cat knows there’s something inherently spooky about their unwavering gaze, and this skeletal version amplifies that sensation to delightfully creepy levels. The LED illumination makes sure this cat’s presence will be felt even in the darkest corners of your Halloween display.

The 2025 collection will be available for purchase online starting Aug. 4, with store availability following later in the fall.
