Chilly start turns mild by the afternoon

Tampa, Fla. (WFLA) — Sunday started out chilly, with temperatures as low as the mid 30s in Citrus & Hernando counties. Elsewhere we started out in the 40s and 50s under clear skies. The breeze is lighter, and the skies are clear.

Temperatures will warm nicely today, climbing through the 60s and topping out in the mild mid to low 70s for the afternoon. We haven’t made it into the 70s in three days.

It should stay sunny throughout the middle of the work week with highs in the upper 70s Monday and around 80 Tuesday and Wednesday.

The next chance of rain comes Friday with another cold front as temperatures next weekend returning to the 40s at night and in the upper 60s during the afternoons.

There is no development expected in the tropics the next seven days as this season finally winds down.
