On Thursday afternoon, police responded to a home on 51st Avenue South for a “suspicious death.” Officials found Otis Moore, 54, dead with blunt force trauma to his upper body.

Investigators discovered that the suspect, Jha’Quel Maynor, 19, and Moore had gotten into an argument, which resulted in Moore’s death. The details leading up to his death were not disclosed.

According to the department, the teen had lived in the home with his mother, who was in a relationship with Moore.

Maynor was arrested Friday on a charge of first-degree murder.
