ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (WFLA) — All barrier islands and beaches in Pinellas County will open at 4 p.m. with restrictions.
Barrier Islands will be open to residents, business owners, or employees with a Barrier Island Re-Entry Permit, the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office said.
To gain access to the barrier islands residents or business owners need a barrier island re-entry permit or a photo ID with reasonable proof they reside or have legitimate business on the barrier islands, according to PCSO.
Examples of reasonable proof are:
- Vehicle registration
- Property tax or utility bill
- Proof of employment (pay stub, work ID, uniform)
Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office advised residents entering the barrier island that the power is out and traffic lights and signals are not functioning.
North and southbound lanes of Gulf Boulevard will remain closed from 150th Avenue south to 140th Avenue in Madeira Beach.
Gulf Boulevard north and southbound lanes from Park Boulevard Bridge to 196th Avenue in Indian Shores will also remain closed.
Areas of Clearwater Beach, Sand Key, and Island Estates may still be without power at this time. Water in these areas is operational and drinkable but has low pressure.
Residents are asked to reduce the usage of water at this time due to stormwater systems working at capacity.
Beaches are not open to visitors at this time, and Pier 60 is closed due to damages sustained from the storm, according to the City of Clearwater.
The City of Clearwater advises residents that some areas do not have working traffic lights, and to treat them as a 4-way-stop.
South Gulfview Boulevard is closed from Coronado to Hamden drives.
