ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (WFLA) — Nine people were found dead after Hurricane Helene struck Pinellas County on Thursday.
The nine victims who lost their lives in Hurricane Helene were:
- Donna Fagersten, 66, of Indian Rocks Beach
- Patricia Mikos, 80, of Dunedin
- Aiden Bowles, 71, of Indian Rocks Beach
- Marjorie Havard, 70, of St. Pete Beach
- Francis Wright, 71, of Madeira Beach
- Jerome Waite, 89, of Saint Petersburg
- James Thompson, 55, of Redington Shore
- Rachel Burch, 37, of Treasure Island
The ninth victim’s information will not be released.
“It’s hard, but we will continue to recover as a community,” Perkins said. “And we will do everything in our power to continue restoration efforts for our residents.”
Search and rescue crews are still working to check on homes and residents. Perkins urged residents to be patient as teams go through the community.
