WATCH: Pair of thieves fall through ceiling during robbery, steal nearly $150K

ATLANTA, Ga. (WFLA) — A duo of thieves took an unusual approach of breaking into a check-cashing business in Atlanta, Georgia and walking away with nearly $150,000.

On Sept. 3, two unidentified men entered the Atlanta Check Cashiers building through the ceiling, according to the police department.

Officials said the two suspects accessed several cash drawers and a safe, shoving around $150,000 into a redish-pink duffle bag.

The video shows a ceiling tile fall as the first man drops to the ground, quickly followed by the second suspect whose legs are seen dangling from above.

The two grab the manager and hold her on the floor before leading her into a room that held the safe, according to FOX5 Atlanta. An incident report obtained by FOX5 said they forced the manager into the safe where they took the cash, duct-taped the woman, and then left her in a bathroom.

Investigators believe the thieves used power tools to drill a hole into the roof, FOX5 reported.

Police said the suspects left in a black or green two-door pickup truck, driven by a third suspect.

Officials are still searching for the men. They described the first suspect as a light-skinned black man in his 30s and around 6-foot. the second individual is a dark-skinned black man with a slim build, standing around 5 foot, 8 inches.
