Walmart and Aldi are once again offering meal deals for Thanksgiving

BENTONVILLE, Ark. (KNWA/KFTA) — Walmart and Aldi are dishing out meal deals for the Thanksgiving holiday this year, advertising their dinners at “inflation-free” or “pre-inflation” prices, respectively.

Walmart recently announced in a news release that its meal deal, which serves eight, will be available through Dec. 24. Walmart said the components of the meal are at a “lower price than last year,” with costs at about $7 per person.

Customers can also “gift” a meal to someone else, or donate it to a family in need via the Salvation Army, according to Walmart.

“Some of the holiday’s most special moments take place around the dinner table,” John Laney, executive vice president of food at Walmart U.S., said in the release. “And with more opportunities to gift a meal and give back to those in need, we’re helping customers spread holiday cheer to their loved ones and their local communities.”

The following items are suggested in Walmart’s Thanksgiving meal deal:

Other retail and grocery chains are offering special Thanksgiving grocery prices, including Aldi, which announced its its lowest-priced Thanksgiving deal in five years, according to a press release. The components of the Aldi bundle are said to cost under $4.70 per person, the company said.

The spread includes a Butterball turkey with spices, gravy, rolls, macaroni and cheese, stuffing and ingredients for cranberry sauce, mashed potatoes, sweet potato casserole, green bean casserole and pumpkin pie.

Sam’s Club, too, is offering a deal for Thanksgiving. CEO Chris Nicholas told FOX Business that the chain is offering a full Thanksgiving dinner for 10 people for under $100. Nicholas said the deal includes turkey, trimmings and dessert.
