TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — As Potential Tropical Cyclone Nine gets organized in the Caribbean, Tampa Bay officials are helping residents prepare for potential impacts from a hurricane.
Residents can find sandbags at the following locations:
Hillsborough County
The City of Temple Terrace will open a sandbag distribution location from noon to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, and from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Wednesday. The site will be the Sports Complex located at 10369 US Highway 301. Residents have a maximum of 10 sandbags per person. Identification is required to verify residency.
Pinellas County
St. Petersburg: The following sites are available for sandbags in St. Petersburg:

Pinellas Park: The city will open two sites for Pinellas Park residents. Residents with a valid water bill or driver’s license can get up to 10 bags at the following sites:

Dunedin: Dunedin will have pre-filled sandbags at the Highlander Park parking lot on 903 Michigan Boulevard.
The sandbag site will be open Tuesday from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. If the site runs out of pre-filled bags, sand and bangs will be available for residents to fill themselves.
These bags will only be available to Dunedin residents. You must bring a driver’s license or recent utility bill to prove your residency. Residents will be limited to a maximum of 15 sandbags.
Gulfport: The City of Gulfport will offer sandbags at the 49th Street Neighborhood Center (1617 49th Street South) on Monday from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. and Tuesday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
There is a 10-bag limit and proof of residency may be required.
Clearwater: Sandbags will be available at Joe DiMaggio Sports Complex for residents on Tuesday. Residents are asked to bring their own shovels.
Citrus County
The following sandbag sites are available 24/7, but will be staffed on Monday from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. and on Tuesday and Wednesday from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- Homosassa Recreation Park (4210 S Grandmarch Ave, Homosassa)
- Bicentennial Park (501 N Baseball Point, Crystal River)
- Floral Park (9530 S Parkside Ave, Floral City)
- Old Hernando Elementary School (2435 N Florida Ave, Hernando)
Residents must bring their own shovels to the sandbag sites.
Manatee County
Manatee County is currently stocking its sandbag sites in preparation for the storm. Residents are urged to check the county’s Severe Weather Information Center website for the latest on sandbag availability.
Sarasota County
Self-service sandbag locations will be open for Sarasota County residents from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday.
These are located at:
- Twin Lakes Park, 6700 Clark Road.
- Ed Smith Stadium (parking lot), 2700 12th St.
- South County Fleet Services, 4571 State Road 776/Englewood Road.
- Larry Thoennissen Athletic Fields behind the George Mullen Activity Center, 1602 Kramer Way.
Hernando County
Hernando County has a limited supply of sand and bags at a sandbag station in Ridge Manor. It will operate on a self-service basis.
The sandbag station is will be located at Ridge Manor Community Center at 34240 Cortez Blvd.
Polk County
Polk County will have sandbags available on Tuesday from 8 a.m. until 5:30 p.m.
Sandbag site locations are:

A maximum of 10 sandbags per address and a valid driver’s license is needed for pickup.
Pasco County
Pasco County has five sandbag sites open ahead of the storm:
- Magnolia Valley Golf Course – 7223 Massachusetts Avenue, New Port Richey
- Pasco Public Works C-Barn – 30908 Warder Road, San Antonio
- Veterans Memorial Park – 14333 Hicks Road, Hudson
- Pasco Fire Rescue Station #29 – 6907 Dairy Road, Zephyrhills
The Magnolia Valley and Pasco Public Works sites are open 24/7. The other sites are open from sunrise to sundown.
