Video: FPL finalizes preparations ahead of Hurricane Milton
TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — More than 1 million people across the Tampa Bay area are without power after Hurricane Milton made its way across the state.
Milton made landfall Wednesday night near Siesta Key as a Category 3 hurricane, the NHC said.
PowerOutage.us, which aggregates power outage data, is reporting 2.2 million people in Florida are without power.
Tampa Electric Company
As of 12:57 p.m. Friday, 468,075 customers have reported power outages.

Peace River Electric
The following counties have reported outages (as of 10:59 a.m. Friday):
- Hardee: 5,551 customers
- Highlands: 127 customers
- Hillsborough: 129 customers
- Manatee: 15,613 customers
- Polk: 696 customers
- Sarasota: 38 customers
