PALMETTO, Fla. (WFLA) — Florida Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal crash that killed three on I-275 going southbound in Palmetto.

Officers were dispatched at 3:19 a.m. in regards to a vehicle vs pole at mile marker two, according to reports.

According to FHP, upon impact with a pole, the vehicle caught fire.

FHP stated three people had died in the crash.
