Drivers could be fined $100 if detection cams catch Manatee County school zone speeders

MANATEE COUNTY, Fla. (WFLA) — Drivers speeding through school zones in Manatee County could face fines of $100 for violating the speed limit.


According to the Manatee County Public Safety Department, drivers who are going 10 mph or more over the posted speed limit in school zones will get a $100 violation.

Effective Nov. 1, speed detection cameras will be monitoring the speeds during school zone flashing times, or at any time during the school day.
