SPRING HILL, Fla. (WFLA) — A 4-year-old girl has died following a crash on the Suncoast Parkway on Saturday night, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Around 10 p.m., a 47-year-old Lee woman driving a Kia Optima was traveling southbound on the Suncoast Parkway.

Just south of US-98, she lost control of the vehicle and left the roadway.

FHP said the Kia struck a concrete culvert, went airborne, and flipped.

The woman and a 7-year-old girl in the car suffered serious injuries and were taken to a nearby hospital.

Officials said the other passenger in the car, a 4-year-old girl, also sustained serious injuries but later died at the hospital.
