HOMOSASSA, Fla. (WFLA) — Citrus County has opened a cold weather shelter this weekend, as overnight temperatures reach the lower 40s.

The Citrus Cold Weather Shelter is open Sunday, Dec. 1, and Monday, Dec. 2 from 6 p.m. through 7 a.m. at the Nature Coast Community Church, located at 5113 South Suncoast Boulevard in Homosassa.

According to the Citrus County Sheriff’s Office, the shelter will provide hot meals, warm sleeping areas, and showers.

Free transportation to the shelter is available through Citrus County Transit.
