TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — A 24-year-old man is behind bars for the fatal stabbing of a 19-year-old overnight in Tampa, the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office announced.
At 2:20 a.m. on Sunday, officials responded to Northgreen at Carrollwood Apartments, located at Northgreen Avenue in regards to a stabbing.
On the scene, investigators found 19-year-old Arnold Gutierrez suffering from multiple stab wounds. He was taken to St. Joseph’s Hospital but died from his injuries.
Detectives said Gutierrez was involved in a verbal altercation with Michael Aldana, 24, when the altercation became physical.
During the ensuing conflict, Aldana allegedly stabbed Gutierrez multiple times.
Michael Aldana was arrested and transported to the Orient Road Jail on charges of first-degree murder with a weapon.
This remains an active investigation.
