Tampa man claims $1 million from $30 scratch-off

TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — A Tampa man has claimed a $1 million prize from the Florida 300x The Cash scratch-off game, the Florida Lottery announced.

Donald Geisler, 66, of Tampa claimed the prize at the lottery’s Tampa District Office where he chose to receive his winnings as a one-time, lump-sum payment of $695,500.

The winning scratch-off was purchased at the Harney Food Store, 6901 Harney Road. The retailer received a $2,000 commission for selling the ticket, according to the Florida Lottery.

Florida 300x The Cash is a $30 scratch-off game that was launched in Sept. 2022. The scratch-off has more than $1 billion in cash prizes, and the overall odds of winning are 1-in-2.93.

Since the start of scratch-off games, it has awarded more than $64.3 billion in prizes.
