PLANT CITY, Fla. (WFLA) — A new technical college is set to open in Plant City in fall 2025 and Hillsborough County Public Schools is asking the community for help naming the school.
The college will be located at 1690 East Park Road and will offer career-focused programs, according to Hillsborough County Public Schools.
The programs will include:
- Industrial electricity
- Welding technology
- Building Construction
- HVAC
- Forklift certification
All courses are designed to be completed in approximately one year, allowing students to enter high-demand jobs faster, according to Hillsborough County Public Schools.
To submit a name for the new technical college, the community can go to the online survey.
The district will put together the suggestions and present them to the school board for review. The board will vote on the official name during a meeting on Tuesday, Dec. 17.
