RIVERVIEW, Fla. (WFLA) — A motorcyclist was killed Wednesday afternoon after troopers said the 26-year-old Sun City Center man crashed into a Hillsborough County school bus.
The crash happened around 4 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 4 near the intersection of U.S. 301 and Duncan Avenue in Riverview, according to a report by the Florida Highway Patrol.
At the time, the school bus, which was being driven by a 43-year-old Brandon woman, was heading southbound on U.S. 301 with 12 students on board.
The motorcyclist, who was heading northbound on U.S. 301, crashed into the school bus as the woman was turning left under a flashing yellow signal at the intersection of Duncan Avenue, troopers said.
Post-impact, the Suzuki motorcycle continued into the southbound lanes and collided with a third vehicle, a Dodge 2500 pickup, driven by a 55-year-old Riverview man.
Authorities said the motorcyclist suffered serious injuries and later died as a result of the crash. No other injuries were reported.
