RUSKIN, Fla. (WFLA) — Hillsborough Fire Rescue responded to multiple 911 calls reporting an explosion and heavy smoke near the train tracks on Old Highway 41 in Ruskin.
The incident happened early Tuesday afternoon.
At the scene the crew confirmed a crash involving a train and a dump truck, which ignited small bush fires in to multiple train cars and the surrounding area.
Fortunately, no hazardous materials were involved.
The driver of the dump truck has died, according to an HCFR release.
The cause of the incident is currently under investigation.
