TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — Cleanup and recovery efforts continue to be “all hands on deck” as the City of Tampa removes debris from Hurricane Helene and Milton.
The Solid Waste Department and the Mobility Department’s two paving crews have been working to remove debris around the City of Tampa.
Crews have been picking up household items and vegetative debris by hand or with heavy machinery.
The City of Tampa stated that Solid Waste collects a football field’s worth of debris per day.
More than 240,000 cubic yards of debris have already been cleared in Tampa.
According to the City of Tampa, paving crews are expected back on their normal jobs over the next several weeks.
