OSCEOLA, Fla. (WFLA) — A 14-year-old girl has died after her mother was accused of holding her head underwater in the bathtub, Osceola County Sheriff’s Office announced.

OCSO responded to a call about an armed disturbance at a home in Poinciana. When deputies arrived at the home, they arrested the suspect, Kelsey Glover.

According to Sheriff Marcos Lopez, witnesses at the home told deputies that Glover’s 14-year-old daughter, Giselle Glover, was upstairs in the bathroom and unresponsive.

The witnesses told deputies they saw Glover holding her daughter’s head underwater in the bathtub and tried to stop her but were unsuccessful.

“What happened to her is unimaginable and we are determined to get justice for Giselle,” Sheriff Lopez said.

Glover then began attacking and chasing the witnesses around the house with a hammer which led them to call the police, Sheriff Lopez said in a news conference.

The 14-year-old was taken to the hospital where she was pronounced deceased.

Sheriff Lopez said the sheriff’s office is waiting on a report from the medical examiner’s office to confirm how the 14-year-old died.

Glover has been arrested for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and battery charges.
