Kevin Guthrie stated Florida had around 120 tornado warnings due to Hurricane Milton.

Damage assessments remain ongoing, as of Thursday afternoon.

The Hillsborough River is expected to remain flooded from the storm. Officials said six inches of moving water is enough to take a person. Residents should heed to local officials’ warnings before they leave their homes.

According to Guthrie, the State of Florida is currently working with FEMA to find a way to get debris picked up quickly in impacted areas.

“Do not cut lines,” officials said regarding downed power lines. Assistance is available at 1-800-342-3557.
