IMMOKALEE, Fla. (WFLA) — The Rok-N-Rol ride at Immokalee Fair malfunctioned Friday evening, leaving two children and one adult in the hospital, according to NBC affiliate WBBH.
Witnesses said the Rok-N-Rol ride was going around a second time when it made a weird noise and fell off the track onto the platform.
One of the children’s fathers said four people hit the ground and his 10-year-old daughter had her arm punctured.
Two days following the incident, the ride was flagged by the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services with a tag that read, “Stop operation.”
The website describes a “stop operation” sign as saying the ride “cannot operate at the same location until it has passed a reinspection and the red tag has been removed by an inspector.”
WBBH said it reached out to the owner of Fun For Everyone Shows, which owns the ride, but the owner refused to comment at this time.
The conditions of those injured are unknown at the time of this report.
