TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — Celebrate the holidays by spreading some kindness at News Channel 8’s 16th Annual Kindness Day on Friday.

You can drop off toys, teddy bears, food, school supplies or donate blood from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. outside of our WFLA’s studios located at 200 S. Parker St. in Tampa.

The Rough Riders is just one of the groups we have partnered up with to help collect donations.

Over the years, members have delivered teddy bears to children, veterans, hospital patients, and even cancer survivors across Tampa Bay.

“We depend on viewers of Channel 8 and the kindness in the community,” Rough Riders President Greg Eckley said.

The organization has seen a decrease in donations this year. They even lost some floats and vehicles due to flooding from this year’s hurricanes.

“But that’s not going to stop the mission. We need to collect the bears and get out and deliver them,” Eckley said.

Eckley also said they are looking for teddy bears that are approximately 12-18 inches tall for the donations.
