LARGO, Fla. (BLOOM) — The City of Largo is shining a spotlight on one of its own, Leron Roberts, a dedicated public servant and father of four. Despite facing a life-threatening health challenge, Roberts continues to serve his community with unwavering commitment.

Roberts, 45, works as a Solid Waste Driver and Claw Truck Operator for Largo Public Works. He has been placed on the kidney donor waiting list and is urgently seeking a living donor with an O positive blood type to help save his life. Until a match is found, he undergoes nine hours of dialysis every day.

Even with the demands of his health condition, Roberts remains steadfast in his role, currently focused on clearing storm debris after Hurricanes Helene and Milton. His efforts have been crucial in helping Largo recover from the recent storms, reflecting his dedication to his community despite the adversity he faces.

By sharing his story, Roberts hopes to raise awareness about kidney disease and inspire action to support others battling similar health challenges.

The City of Largo is asking the community to rally around Roberts and help amplify his message.
