TAMPA (BLOOM)- Founder of Little Red Wagon Native Nursery Anita Camacho joins Gayle Guyardo , the host of the nationally syndicated health and wellness show Bloom to talk about the hurricane’s impact on native wildlife.

Camacho explains how wildlife is impacted by hurricanes because the native plants and food supply takes a hit. Many animal species are displaced following the hurricane; many species migrate while others burrow or build nests.

Native plants have deeper root systems than non-native plants- which assists in erosion control and storm recovery.

Camacho explains further efforts to prevent wildlife and habitat loss efforts on beaches- including creation of beach dunes and the planting of beach-dune plants.
