Tampa Bay cares about health, and News Channel 8 is On Your Side, bringing viewers the latest information on health and medical trends. Bloom Tampa Bay, News Channel 8, and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are partnering to host this free one-day event so fans can see the indoor AdventHealth Training Center, interact with the Bucs cheerleaders and Captain Fear (10 a.m. – 12 p.m.), kick field goals (12 p.m. – 2 p.m.), and most importantly, have access to a variety of free, on-site health screenings.

On-site Health Screenings/Events Offered:

  • Give Blood: Give the gift of life and help save lives by donating blood.
  • Blood Pressure: Ensure your heart is in good health with a quick and painless blood pressure check.
  • Blood Sugar: Gain insights into your glucose levels to help manage or prevent diabetes.
  • Cholesterol: Understand your cholesterol numbers and what they mean for your heart health.
  • Muscle and Joint Evaluations: These evaluations assess your muscle strength, flexibility, and joint function to identify any issues or areas that may need attention. It helps in diagnosing conditions like arthritis, muscle strains, and joint instability.
  • Posture Screenings: These screenings evaluate the alignment of your spine and body posture to identify any imbalances or postural issues. Proper posture is essential for preventing pain and injuries, and these screenings can provide recommendations for improvement.
  • Shock Wave Therapy: This non-invasive treatment uses high-energy sound waves to stimulate healing in injured or painful areas of the body, such as tendons, ligaments, and muscles. It’s often used to treat chronic conditions like plantar fasciitis, tennis elbow, and shoulder tendinitis.
  • BMI (Body Mass Index): Learn about your body composition and healthy weight range.
  • CPR Classes: Gain life-saving skills with CPR training.
  • Hernia Screenings: Get checked for hernias and learn about treatment options.
  • Injury and Functional Mobility Screenings: Assess your injury risk and functional mobility to stay active and healthy.
  • Mammogram Screenings: Mammogram screenings will also be available. These are not free, but they will bill insurance, or you can opt for a self-pay option. We encourage pre-registration, but walk-ups will be accepted as well. For more information and to pre-register, visit this link.

  • Life Guard Imaging Kicking Challenge: From 12 p.m. to 2 p.m., test your skills in the kicking challenge for a chance to win Buccaneers tickets.
  • AdventHealth Combine Challenge: Participate in various physical challenges to test your fitness.

Meet & Greet:

  • Gayle Guyardo: Meet our beloved host, Gayle Guyardo, known for her engaging and informative segments on Bloom TV.
  • News Channel 8 Anchors and Reporters: Say hello and meet your favorite journalists.
  • Captain Fear and Bucs Cheerleaders: Get a photo with the Buccaneers’ mascot and cheerleaders between 10 a.m. and 12 p.m.

Fun and Interactive:

  • Green Screen Experience: At the News Channel 8 tent, check out the Green Screen Experience: Step in front of the Bloom Health Expo branded green screen to pretend to be a meteorologist. Fans can stand in front of Max Defender’s radar map, give a forecast, and have the video sent directly to their email. One of our meteorologists will be there to show you how to present the weather like a true professional!

If you are attending the Bloom Health Expo at AdventHealth Training Center and inclement weather is in the immediate area, we ask that you seek shelter inside the Indoor Practice Facility.  Alternatively,  if you are arriving, please remain in your vehicle until it is determined that the inclement weather has passed. We will give notification when it is all clear to proceed outdoors and enter the event.
