Kenny Morales joined the 8 On Your Side sports team in April 2024 as the Weekend Sports Anchor.
A native of Fort Myers, Fla., Kenny graduated from the University of Central Florida (Go Knights, Charge On!) with a degree in Radio/Television with a concentration in Broadcast Journalism.
Before joining WFLA, Kenny served as a sports reporter/anchor for Spectrum Bay News 9 in Tampa. During those five years, he covered the Bucs’ Super Bowl win in 2020, the Lightning’s back-to-back Stanley Cup championships, the Rays’ World Series run in 2020, and the Rowdies’ run to the USL Championshionp Final in 2021!
Prior to that, he spent three years as the Weekend Sports Anchor for WCTV in Tallahassee, where he covered all things FSU, FAMU, and high school sports.
Kenny’s journey in sports reporting began at WSAW in Wausau, Wis., where he worked as a sports reporter, photographer, and fill-in anchor.
When he’s not at work, you can find Kenny exploring Tampa Bay with his wife Ashley and their two corgis Flash and Veda, working out, enjoying the beach, traveling, or watching basketball (Go Orlando Magic!).
