Tampa, Fla. (WFLA) – Whether you’re a devoted vegan or a meat-loving skeptic, there’s a new food truck in town that’s winning over taste buds across Tampa Bay.
Jenna Bard and her partner, Dave Tipton, are owners of the Green Table Food Truck. They are serving up delicious, cruelty-free eats that are winning over vegans and non-vegans alike.
“They see all the pictures on our truck and all those pictures, they look so enticing, and you would never know that it’s not vegan,” Bard said. “So that’s that kind of is what draws them in, and once we get to talking to them, and they’re more apt to trying it, which is awesome.”
Jenna and Dave were inspired to open the food truck after falling in love with the brick-and-mortar Green Table restaurant in Palm Harbor.
“We’ve been plant-based for about six years, going on seven, and we ended up going over to Niki’s restaurant, Niki and Rafi’s restaurant, Green Table restaurant in Palm Harbor. We love their food so much. And at the time, we were like, ‘You know what? This is a great opportunity for us,” Bard said.
For Jenna and Dave, the best part about The Green Table on Tour is connecting with the local community.
“Definitely the events. It’s such a whirlwind when you go to the events. We were just at the Central Florida Vegfest this Saturday. Wow, that’s all I can say. It was so busy. Lots of new people, engaging with people, people that are actually here within the Brandon community, who went there and didn’t know that we were here in Brandon,” Bard said.
On the menu… a plant-based Philly Cheesesteak and “The Tank” an impossible burger. They also have a take on the “Big Mac”.
Their signature “Gyro” sandwich is the most popular item, made with their house-made seitan that takes hours to prepare.
But the real star might be their plant-based soft serve ice cream, which customers are raving about.
