ORLANDO, Fla. (WFLA) — Universal Orlando Resort and Walt Disney World are canceling events and closing parks ahead of Hurricane Helene, which is expected to make landfall on Thursday night.

Halloween Horror Nights has been canceled at Universal, and Volcano Bay is closed on Thursday.

Universal Studios Florida and Islands of Adventure will close at their standard times, 5 p.m. and 8 p.m. respectively.

CityWalk will also close early at 8 p.m.

Universal said Halloween Horror Nights is expected to reopen on Friday, Sept. 27.

Anyone with a single-night ticket for Thursday will be honored with a replacement for use through Sunday, Sept. 29.

At Walt Disney World, Typhoon Lagoon is temporarily closed and Beachcomber Shack (cabanas) and Typhoon Lagoon Umbrella rentals are canceled for Thursday, Sept. 26.

Disney also canceled Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party and guests with Thursday tickets will be refunded.
