CLEARWATER, Fla. (WFLA) — It’s been three months, and a local family has no answers on their loved one’s death.

Tammy Kirkland, 57, of Clearwater died in August, and her family wants to see someone held accountable.

Kirkland was a mom to three adult children.

“Their dad had actually passed away four months prior of natural causes,” said Pamela Lough, Tammy’s sister. “At no age are you ready to lose your parent much less lose both of them within four to six months of each other.”

Clearwater police told Lough that her older sister took her own life on Aug. 27 at a home where she had been renting.

“Upon looking at all the details and the evidence, I have a lot of questions,” Lough said. “A lot of things don’t add up they don’t make sense.”

Lough believed someone murdered her sister. She’s requested the report and 911 call of her sister’s death, as 8 On Your Side has done, and we’ve been told the case is still under investigation. A department spokesperson said, “we are unable to release any information until it has been closed.”

“May she rest in peace,” Lough said. “My heart is forever broken, just forever broken.”

Tammy has since been cremated. Her family believes there is more to the story, and they are calling on the police for answers. Lough is now looking to hire an attorney.

“I’m just trying to get justice for her because I feel like there are too many red flags, red flags,” she said.
